70 mm rocket pods...

Post by Nik_SpeakerToCats »

Guided and un-guided 70mm rockets come in a wide range of types and warheads,

This query is about the unguided, retro variety extensively used by eg ground attack air-craft before the 'recent' range upgrade...

If one of these, in a pod or part-pod on eg a small-ish / support helo, were to be struck nose-on by a 50-cal from eg sniper / anti-materiel rifle, what happens ?

Does only the struck rocket cook-off / deflagrate disconcertingly ?
Do adjoining tubes 'Go Forrestal', too ??
All remaining loaded tubes ??

Or, simply, not openly documented, 'You have no need to know'...
If you cannot see the wood for the trees, deploy LIDAR.
