Rereading Dune

Post by warshipadmin »

I read Dune and some of the sequels 40 years ago. Since then I've seen the loathed film (which I didn't mind) and the other film , which was OK.

For no particular reason I picked it up again.

Well written, easy to follow, good story. The main problem (as in any superhero story) is how boring Paul is. I must admit 60s style hallucinogenic writing has never been my cup of tea either.

I seem to remember, before 'Dune the Doorstop' Novel, there was a Dune Novella, complete with 'Weirding Module', as appeared in that original, much denigrated film.

As film appeared after the publication of the 'full' tale, not surprising that it was panned by the readers...

Snag is no-one else seems to remember that novella...
