Touche. I spent maybe 200x times reading old d&d rulesets then actually playing the games.

That all takes me back!

We played d & d when it first came out.

My first war game per se was Avalon Hill’s Trobruk.

Wargame Research Group’s army lists got me very interested in Heraclian Byzantium.

Time to root through the games cupboards.

I have a two foot cube box in my attic of all the avalon hill games I own.

I've only been able to get my friends to play ONE of them ONCE. And we didn't finish. Its been 35 years, and I still have the sheet of paper that I wrote down how the game was set up because I foolishly assumed we would get back to it someday.
