Just found out (another) one of my favorite podcasts is coming to an end in a couple months.
Anyone have recommendations for more?

Provided you have suitable ad blocking in place there are lots and lots of very good regular videos on Youtube.
Any subject areas in particlar?

Re: Podcast recommendations?
Sadly, that won't work.... 99% of the time I'm listening in the car or while out walking.David Newton wrote: ↑Fri Feb 20, 2026 9:08 am Provided you have suitable ad blocking in place there are lots and lots of very good regular videos on Youtube.
Mostly I'm listening to history stuff with a smattering of other things. I'm open to other topics, except politics.
I've tried audiobooks through Spotify but I'm really picky about who does the voice.

Youtube would work in that regard. Newpipe is your friend there (at least for Androd).
https://newpipe.net/
It nukes adverts and it allows background audio. So things like the Unauthorised History of the Pacific War or The History Chap from Youtube would work using it. Drachinifel's Dry Dock episodes would also mostly work.

Re: Podcast recommendations?
I routinely listen to these:
I’m also working through the following podcasts, but have not caught up completely so can’t vouch for the quality the same way:
I also have Ben Franklin’s World queued up, and am waiting for The Untitled History Podcast to post on Apple Podcasts, but can’t vouch for the quality of either yet, since I haven’t heard them, but both sound interesting.
Those should keep you busy for a few months.
- Not So Quiet On The Western Front: This is a great podcast covering WWI. They just finished a few episodes on flamethrowers, are starting a long series on the German Army, to compliment similar ones on the French and the Americans. Lots of episodes on variously diverse topics from food, sanitation and VD, along with the usual battles and strategy. It updates weekly.
- Between Two Wires: This one is a German-Canadian podcast covering WWII. They just finished a three-part series on the assassination of Heydrich, and cover a wide variety of WWII topics at a relatively high level. Also updates weekly.
- Prime and Load: This podcast covers the long eighteenth century (roughly 1689-1789). They have some fantastic episodes on individual battles like Lexington and Concord, the training of the British Army, American rifle culture and development, and a long-running series on the’45. They also do some sillier ones like a March Madness style bracket for best general of the 18th century, and some one-offs like ghost stories of the 18th Century.
- The Unauthorized History of the Pacific War: Another great one, as it says on the tin. Jon Parshall is a routine guest, and it has some other great contributors. Awesome discussions of both campaigns and high-level strategy. I am up to Season 3. This one I usually watch on YouTube first the maps, but it’s also on Apple Podcasts.
I’m also working through the following podcasts, but have not caught up completely so can’t vouch for the quality the same way:
- Revolutions: I am on episode 11 of their first series on the English Civil Wars, and it’s a snarky but entertaining high-level summary.
- American Revolution Podcast: As the name says on the tin, though I am still working through the background up to the American Revolution, so somewhere in the 1750s. Great high-level coverage.

Some of those look interesting Johnnie, thanks! I've listened to a couple runs of Revolutions in the past; can't remember why I stopped but I did enjoy the same guy's previous "History of Rome".
My normal routine is something like:
Tides of History (this is the one that's ending)
Past Lives (just started, same guy as ToH)
Real Dictators
Cold War Conversations
Check Six (AW&ST)
The Rest is History
The Ancients
What It's Like to Be
History of the Second World War
Occasionally if Art of Manliness looks good I'll listen to that
And when new ones drop every 10-12 months, Hardcore History and Fall of Civilizations
Also heard about one called Build Like a Roman, we'll see if that's any good...
