PHEV CO2 emissions 5 times higher than lab tests

This is a typical tale of bad test design. The current EU emissions test, WLTP, assumes that the battery is used ~80% of the time, hence you'd expect roughly 20% of the fuel used and hence CO2 emissions of a conventional car. Um, well no. Here's the report, and the killer plot is on p6. 20-30% usage is more like it
