This doesn’t seem groundbreaking after 2 years, nor does it show skepticism to be a conspiracy theory.
It is possible that there was some Thai female who spoke to someone at some point; and it is possible that there was someone of some description in the Thai military in some role. I’m not altogether sure that the above offhand comment, replete with a type of written ‘pidgin Asian’ that doesn’t follow the claimed degree of specialisation, study and expertise, is quite a conclusive point.
The available evidence and indications on the role of females in the RTA in the 1980s doesn’t present a huge window. Putting together a career timeline doesn’t seem to really line up. Going from an office lady in ~ 1980 to a senior colonel in 2003 and thence a major general is the type of tale that, if even halfway true, would be documented somehow, and would have lead to some sort of media comment.
I don’t know conclusively what was the case here, but on the basis of what I posted up back in 2022 and 2023, I don’t believe that the conclusion with the least amount of unfounded/untestable assumptions is that everything was completely accurate and true. To use a legal image, this is far, far from anything that could amount to proof beyond reasonable doubt, but it lies somewhere between raising reasonable doubt and approaching the balance of probabilities.

Re: The Stuart = Supatra Conspiracy theory Me to
To paraphrase Napoleon about Vandamme, if we had two we’d have to send one to hang the other.

Well, we are talking about Thailand here, so that can still remain accurate.David Newton wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 4:47 pm The other problem with the man playing woman theory is that Stuart very clearly said he met her. He said that to me himself in person.
He got sick of the politics on there and left to make his own forum which a few posters from warships1 went to, including myself. Forget how long it lasted, but it slowly was petering away before he died. IIRC, NewGolconda took it over running it, but it faded all the faster with his passing.warshipadmin wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 3:41 am OK, I'm convinced. Do you know what happened to Soren? He retired from warships1 a good while ago, which was a shame as he was writing an interesting series of reminiscences about Vietnam.
