Why do I have a vision of them putting a tow line over and saying, "It followed us home, can we keep it?"

Unless it has a reinforced bow, it will do major damage to HMS Rothesay.

Photo: HMS Intrepid (L11) of the coast of Florida in 1989 during the Cuba Blockade. HMS Intrepid was the flagship for the British participation of the planned American/British and Canadian invasion of Cuba set late March 1990. The invasion never happen due to Fidel's finally giving in to the Armistice and putting the planned invasion which had the name of BUCCANEER FURY into History's "What-if" category.

The difference between diplomacy and war is this: Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell so elegantly that they pack for the trip.
War is bringing hell down on that someone.

Photo: USS Ranger (CV-61) in the background with USS Missouri in the foreground during the First Kamthatka Raid codenamed VERMONT CEDAR, 1987. VERMONT CEDAR involved a multi-carrier battlegroup, a surface action group centered on the USS Missouri, EASTERN EXPRESS strikes from Hong Kong, and special operations support from, of all branches, the Air Force.

Photo: A rare shot of three out of the four Resolution Class SSBNs taken just after the end of World War III at Loch Long, 1989. Nearest camera is HMS Repulse (S23), HMS Renown (S26) in the lead, and furthest is HMS Resolution (S22), missing from the shot is HMS Revenge (S27) the only Western SSBN to have fired missiles in action when it fired a Polaris missile at Argentina's main naval base to prevent a second Falklands invasion.

If they wanted to send a message they would have HMS Revenge (S27) in the lead.
