House explosion in Arlington VA
I don't know what he was hoarding, but he had enough of it to take out the house next door.

Natural gas leak?
Gasoline vapors?
Gasoline vapors?
Re: House explosion in Arlington VA
Natural gas was my first thought, but would be a coincidence that it blew up as a warrant was being served.

Or not a coincidence. The blast doesn't look like a point source and getting enough explosives to make it do that is difficult without catching attention. In the meantime, letting out some natural gas and then setting it off is comparatively easy.

A lot depends on what the search warrant was for. If they were going after drugs, for example, it could be a meth lab or a honey oil lab going up.
Re: House explosion in Arlington VA
Hard to tell for sure but it doesn’t look like a gas explosion to me, too slow. Sound seems too dull too. At the same time it does look like there’s a lot of flame early on, something towards the liquid petroleum or alcohol side of things is my thoroughly uninformed and at high risk of being wrong guess. Maybe some gunpowder as well.

Was it one of the non-Terminator Arnie movies where flustered 'Arm Candy' unfolds and fires 'bazooka' the wrong way ??
Down-side, takes out a shop-front and parked car. Upside, this sufficiently distracts her intended target, whose driver swerves, crashes...

If you cannot see the wood for the trees, deploy LIDAR.

Twitchy has a similar thread. Note: PJ Media and Twitchy have the same owner, Salem Media.

Not worth the electrons killed to print it. The first gross error is saying that he's behind on his property taxes, by the whopping amount of $3,700. Two minutes of googling shows that Virginia property taxes are due in two installments, on June 15 and Dec 5. The table in the article shows that the first installment was paid. The Dec. 5 installment would be due at midnight last night, I believe, so he was not delinquent at the time of the explosion.MikeKozlowski wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 3:47 pm ....Looks like the gentleman who owned the house had, ummm, some issues:

The rest reads like an angry screed throwing whatever crap they could find at a wall. Not that James Yoo may not be a very disturbed individual, but the journalism is shoddy.

Commando. Rae Dawn Chong fires a four barreled rocket launcher the wrong way then fires again pointing forward which causes the police van transporting "John Matrix" to crash.Nik_SpeakerToCats wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 12:07 pm Was it one of the non-Terminator Arnie movies where flustered 'Arm Candy' unfolds and fires 'bazooka' the wrong way ??
