Very similar to stories about the TVA. One of my ancestral graveyards is now isolated and very remote due to this. Fortunately it wasn't uprooted. As to Ashokan reservoir, the song about that area, popularized by Ken Burns "The Civil War" series, is without a doubt one of the most haunting I've ever heard.
