Good news story- kidney damage

Amid a spiralling flood (mixed metaphorsRus) of bad news stories, I have a good one- 10 or so years ago I had chemo, using the poison cisplatin. Amongst many horrible side effects it zapped by my kidneys down to 50% functionality (eGFR). I just had a blood test and now I'm up to 59%
That surprises me, I had thought that the kidney couldn't fix itself. But it can.

Sadly my sense of smell is still
cactus.

Liver renowned for rebuilding itself, kidneys not so. But, you're walking proof they do, with time, improve..
