Any Mini (the car) fans?

Amongst the vast hoard of miscellaneous items that are contained within my parents’ humble abode we find a couple of examples of the larger variety. Namely two Minis. They’re both Austins, the red one being the standard variety (I think from 1964), and the other is a Clubman (I think from 1971). They last ran in 1982 when they were driven to the newly built house. Nothing is going to happen with them at this point other than them keeping on collecting dust in the garage and my parents have been wanting for them to find new homes.
So if anyone is on the hunt for an old Mini to restore raise your hand and maybe we can make something happen.

Not me- I prefer big V8s- but my cousin always says that “a Mini is better than sex”…

Your cousin needs to up their game. Minis are fun (and comfortable) to drive, but they’re not
that good.

To be honest, me too. Dad has had a thing for British cars since childhood though. Learned to drive in a Standard Vanguard, first own car was an Austin A30 and so on. His dream car to own was an Austin Healey, but that never materialized.

The great thing about minis is that 40mph feels like 100mph when youre that low to the ground and zipping along winding lanes.

I had one for 4 years. Great car, which surprisingly save my life. My route to work was along narrow hedgebound country roads, which I would drive along at great rate of knots (yes I was an idiot back then). Go round blind corner and oh, there's a great big removal van parked on my side filling 60% of the road, I steered round it into the opposite lane, up on the verge, got round OK. The Mini's small size and great handling prevented rather a large smash.

My Beloved loved Minis but never got to drive one. The closest she got was a Fix It Again Tony 500 rental on a trip to stalk/go to concerts of Mike Nesmith of the Monkees.
