There's an unverified report floating around 'Facebook' that long-sought Planet 9 / X has been spotted.

Larger than Earth, *fully* cleared its orbit, yada yada yada...
Snag is that has *not* shown up on 'mainstream' news feeds.
Okay, things run real-slow on a Monday morning, but usually catch up by brunch...
It may have been conflated by AI with genuine super-Earth spotted in terrestrial zone of a newly forming star-system, possibly with two further, outer planets: Doppler wobble
Orbital gap
But, no, the hype says is ours...
No journal reference or observatory report, just generic text which reads like a dunk of LLM guff.

Ever since the demotion of Pluto through the use of criteria specifically designed to do so, the whole question of what is a planet makes all of these classifications absurd.
This is number 13. Or 14. Or 12. Who the hell knows, because Ceres is too small and Pluto and Eris are big enough.

An object sized between Earth and Uranus / Neptune would be sufficiently massive to 'clear its orbit', confirm Pluto's demotion.
Some hours along, still not a whisper of validity.
Two possibilities:
It is real, but press release 'held' until whenever, news feeds seething over this 'Gazump'.
It is an AI LLM mashup, either in error or totally fake.
Sadly, I'm increasingly leaning towards latter....

The YouTube ? Well described, a genuine dwarf planet, a fraction of size that Facebook post claimed.
After checking for belated news releases, I've flagged the post as 'untruth' and blocked the link.
I doubt Facebook will take any action beyond a belated read-receipt, but worth a try...
FWIW, given the eye-watering distances involved --Both Voyagers are still but a light-day away !!-- I reckon there is ample room for a couple of outliers of true planetary size. IIRC, the infra-red and radio-telescope (*) surveys exclude exotica such as 'Brown Dwarf'' or an extra-solar 'Rogue Planet' hitch-hiker, but...
*) It's the aurora, as on Jupiter, which would reveal any distant kin...

Waiting for the Nemesis adherents to claim it...
Speaking of claims, that Prof Loeb is at it again, claiming current interstellar comet is yet-another alien space-ship.
Traditionally, unicorn horns were supposed to reveal poisons. These extra-solar passes seem an excellent way of identifying the foil-beanie re-blogging fringe. I've already blocked several Face-palm Face Book posters this week...

I’ve been holding off commenting on this, but there is a certain chance he isn’t wrong. 3I/Atlas is quite peculiar. Sabine Hossenfelder, the phycisist who’s usually a grave sceptic when it comes to things like this and initially was so about in particular instance as well, is changing her tone somewhat:
“The more data we have, the more unusual it’s become.”
“It’s shedding nickel and iron at an exceptional rate.”
“Its tail points toward the Sun, possibly seen for the first time.”
“It changes the polarization of light in an unprecedented way.”
She’s talking about 3I/ATLAS, the interstellar object drifting through our system right now. It’s not behaving like any comet we’ve seen. With nickel, iron, CO₂, and water in weird ratios. A tail facing the wrong way.
Polarization that makes no physical sense.
Then she highlights what really matters:
“Not looking at a piece of alien tech because we don’t want Avi Loeb to be right could be the single biggest mistake our civilization ever makes.”
That’s a warning from a physicist who usually debunks this stuff. Even she’s saying the data doesn’t add up.
Something’s off with 3I/ATLAS, and everyone pretending it’s “just a comet” knows it.
