Just read news story that your Mother Humping, Whitey hating Labor party shit Heads are coming to MY COUNTRY to assist that Maoist, no nothing, A Hole, Mattress queen's election scum. If the Dementia Joe Admin actually followed the law the INJUSTICE Dept would arrest them as foreigners committing election fraud. Fat chance of that.
I usually don't comment much on foreigners elections. None of my business but this breaks that rule. You Brits have more than enough problems with Immigration and gagging free speech at home and IMNSHO that your Labor Party are left of Joe Stalin. Keep your Maoists at home because if they make the mistake of going into the wrong "Pub" and puke their commie bilge some good old boys are going to see to it that your lousy dentists have more work than they can handle
AND they will deserve it.
Stop F_CKING with my country.
Any of you have a problem with this post, just shove it up your anus because I don't give a rat's ass what you think.
Aside from that I have no strong feelings on this issue.

I do find it a bit strange that its thought UK activists and politicians have the ability to influence US elections......

I don’t like this practice at all, but it’s been utilized by both parties for a fair while. Though I believe it’s been fewer European volunteers for Trump than for most others, less supporters over here. But as an example I recall that there were some Swedish conservatives campaigning for Marco Rubio in 2016.

They aren't all on the Democrat side - the recently elected MP for Clacton (below, right) has been spending a lot more time in the US campaigning for Trump than in his own constituency. This sort of thing has been happening on both sides for decades.

I have to assume its been happening in the past, and this time, someone noticed and was able to put together an article about it....
It seems remarkably odd to me that someone would go to another country to campaign for someone there. Why? There has to be some kind of gain for them somewhere.
But really, come to the US to do political campaigning? I am hard pressed to think of something I would be less likely to do if I was a citizen of another country.

They're hoping for a more favorable outcome to their country.
I'm not sure how much US campaigning translate to other countries.

A lot of the professionals do work in other countries for much the same reason. Probably the best example was a lot of Obama campaign staff going to Israel to assist against Netanyahu.
Plus, there’s not a lot of work for political operatives who are election specialists when there isn’t an election, so they freelance.

It’s often young folks that are idealistic and ”want to participate”. Save the world etc.

That case I took it as Obama wanting to kick Netanyahu out in hopes of getting a government that would roll over for Obama.

This - the people in one part of the story (about the DNC) are Labour Party staffers, spin doctors, etc. Political parties have long-standing alliances with their opposite numbers in other countries to share tactics, what worked for them, etc. It's been going on for decades in both directions and the only surprise is that someone cared enough to report it.
The bit in the tweet that kicked it all off (below) is basically for people who are into politics as a hobby/obsession going on holiday to another country with an election on, and being hosted by Democrat party members while there.

Senior Chief clutching his pearls. Wow.
Y‘all keep calling out lefties as crybaby snowflakes but when something happens that you don‘t like your reactions are pretty similar, just with more chest-beating and knuckle dragging, and the occasional mass murder fantasy thrown in.
It‘s a shitshow, on both sides, and the infuriating thing is that the US style of politics keeps seeping over to our side of the pond.
I would be betting money on that you could not present a coherent definition of Marxism, Maoism, Socialism or Social Democracy, because since I joined this forum, you have consistently conflated the above, and more.

Poms have been interfering with US presidents for a loooong time. Madison/John Henry letters for example. Hmm, too good a tale to leave half told - from wiki
Henry settled on a farm in northern Vermont, and also studied law. Here he remained five years studying law and, occasionally, writing articles for the press against the republican form of government.
These attracted the attention of Sir James Craig, then Governor-General of Canada, who employed him in 1809 to find out the extent of the reported disaffection to the U.S. government in New England. Henry spent three months in Boston in this employment, living at the Exchange Coffee House. He reported constantly to Craig by letter, and at one time thought that in the event of war between Great Britain and the United States, Massachusetts would take the lead in establishing a northern confederacy, which might, in the end, ally itself with Great Britain.
Craig promised Henry office in Canada, but died soon afterward, and the spy's efforts to obtain his reward in London, meeting with no success, he returned to the United States. En route to the United States in September 1811, he made the acquaintance of one Comte Edouard de Crillon who Henry took into his confidence and to whom he explained the entire affair. De Crillon suggested that Henry sell the correspondence to President Madison as Madison was seeking grounds on which to declare war on Britain. In reality, De Crillon was not a French count, but a notorious con artist whose real name was Paul Émile Soubiran [fr].
Henry, on February 10, 1812, sold the documents, called the Henry Papers, to President James Madison, who paid him $50,000 for his information, the other $40,000 of his reward to be guaranteed by the deed to an ancestral estate of de Crillon's.[citation needed] (Some sources[who?] state that Henry gave the bulk of the cash to de Crillon in exchange for the deed to de Crillon's estate in France named St. Martial.)
Henry sailed from New York for France aboard the sloop USS Wasp on March 9, 1812. The estate in Gascony granted by the "Count de Crillon" did not exist, as Crillon proved to be an impostor - possibly in the employ of Emperor Napoleon to help distract the United Kingdom in a war with the United States prior to his invasion of Russia.[3]
His disclosures, although considered by some to be fraudulent, were believed by President Madison and his Republican Party. They were made the subject of a special message to Congress, and created much excitement throughout the country. Some Federalists alleged that it was all a political trick that had been devised by the President to cause war with Great Britain.
Historians have been sharply critical of Madison. Richard Leopold wrote, "In buying sight unseen, in February, 1812, the worthless Henry letters at the cost of a badly needed frigate in order to expose the supposed intrigues of the New England Federalists, Madison and Secretary of State Monroe looked like fools as well as knaves."[4]

Jotun it is a continuum.
"The meaning of CONTINUUM is a coherent whole characterized as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees. How to use continuum in a sentence. Do you get it now? Pax.

Trade your passel of near-rabid MAHs for some of our utter nutters ?
There's David Ikke, who, after a successful career in sport, got it into his head that UK Royals are 'Lizard People'.
(Hey, that would probably be an improvement, given eg 'Charlie Oath-Breaker'...)
There's an 'investigative reporter' who reckons the ghastly Manchester Arena Bombing was faked and, like several of those US school shootings, the 'casualties' were disaster actors. He took to following, stalking one pair of badly injured survivors, lost court case for huge damages...
Then we have the so-far-right he's almost back around the block 'Tommy Robinson', actually a posh-hyphen. Another 'investigative reporter, he repeatedly claimed a harmless young man of Mid-East descent was a terrorist. Now doing 18 months for 'contempt of court' for repeatedly repeating and distributing this defamation...
Upside, UK's 'Sovereign Citizen' movement, imported from US, seems to have sunk without trace...

No thanks Nik. We have far too many of our own but a whole lot of them are threatening to leave the USA and migrate to the UK. You withstood the Blitz so I think you can handle them.

On a somewhat related note I've been reading Nate Silver's analysis of the faults in the polling
https://www.natesilver.net
A very plausible website but I don't know enough about polling to really tell.
