I'd take the Stearman, maintenance is a nightmare on anything else.

If it helps lessen the blow, $1,000 in 1946 is equivalent to about $16,000 today.

I've changed my mind. Catalina.

A B-25 Mitchell for me. Convert it into a flying RV.

I miss the Red Baron Stearman Squadron. That was a big piece of my childhood there.

A Catalina is the same as a B-17 or a B-24. Remarkably, a C-47 is the same price as a B-29. A P-38 is the same price a Corsair or a PT-17, and a third of a P-51.

My shopping list would a trio of PBY, a brace each of P-38 and F4U, and either a six-pack or twelve-pack of T-6.

I note the typos for the B-24 and the L-5 ....

On reflection I am not surprised at the cost of the C-47 and C-54.
