Rucking

Post by Jotun »

Like it says on the tin.

I started with aforementioned activity a couple of weeks ago because sitting on a stationary bike is boring as hell, and running in my weight class (300 lbs) and with my height is right out, especially with a black disc and arthrosis in the right ankle.

How did I manage 19 miles with 22 lbs in 4:20 hrs back in the day? Yesterday, I walked 15 klicks and change in 2:35 hrs with 22 lbs on my back, and today, I am aching all over and questioning my sanity.

Yes, I am old, yes, I am creaky, but damn...

I thought you were referring to Rugby Union going by the thread title. When I played the rucks could be quite physical. To be rucked was to have yourself moved away from the ball by players using the sprigs on their boots. And yes, it could hurt.

Anyway, good effort!

Hello ibuprofen, my old friend.

The good news is that you will get a lot less creaky relatively quickly if you power through it and just keep up.

ECA stacks are good as well, provided they don't kill you of course.

Good for you Jotun! Keep it up!

I'll recommend getting some Tumeric into your diet, either with a supplement or as a spice. It helps with inflammation.
