This evening

Well this evening's had a bit more variety to it than I thought it would!
Flat entry phone went off unexpectedly and it was someone claiming to be from the ambulance service needing to get into the building pronto. Headed downstairs to verify that they were who they claimed to be and they'd come mob-handed. Half a dozen paramedics at the door is not quite what you usually expect. Let them in and let them get upstairs before heading back up myself.
Turns out they couldn't get in the flat they needed to. I answered questions about the neighbours as best I could and warned them about the extra-tough post-Grenfell fire doors that are the flat front doors. Said they may well need to have the police break the door down. One of the paramedics then had a look at the lock mechanism of my door to see what was opposing them getting in.
Next thing I knew armed police wanted to have a look at my door lock for exactly the same reason. The police who had come were from an armed response vehicle. They eventually used a police doorknocker to smash down the neighbour's door.
An elderly couple live next door. She's very ill and he is getting on in years. He'd fallen over. Hence with her bed bound nobody being able to open the door. He's now in hospital. Don't know about her status.
Having armed police smash my next door neighbour's front door down was not what I expected at the start of the evening!
