The Navy knew what they wanted, and they were freaking ruthless in either saying "No, we're not doing that" or "Good idea, but we're going to defer that to a future aircraft block."

An airframe on the flight line beats two on a PowerPoint slide.

And Grumman had arguably had a free hand with the Raven, but they went with a more advanced variant of the AN/ALQ-99 system that they knew so well from the Prowler… and again as the EW system for the Growler.

So, what’s up with Charlie White and his assorted misdeeds?

Lawyers are billing hours. Lots and lots of hours.

Charlie's in jail in Driggs. Pocatello is arguing for extradition over the procuring public office via fraud.

Treasury wants to have a chat with him about being an unregistered firearms dealer and failing to pay taxes on his revenues.

The FBI SAIC in Boise just got a "show cause" letter from the District Court of Idaho over his stonewalling the court re: his office's role in instigating this whole mess.

The Teton County DA is charging him with ADW, false imprisonment, and exhibition of a deadly weapon.

He's also charging one of the Zebra Team guys with unlawful discharge of a firearm for shooting out the room microwave oven through negligence. (The man does not tolerate stupidity with firearms. He actually said during his press conference, "Guns are awesome. Idiots are not. When the two come together, bad things happen, and that's why I swing the hammer hard on the subject.")

Charlie is claiming that he isn't competent to stand trial due to brain damage caused by me kicking him in the head. The Pocatello DA, arguing his extradition case, said, "No, Charlie, you were always that f---ing stupid," and the court gallery freaking LOST IT.

(The judge admonished the Pocatello DA, but apparently his heart wasn't in it--after all, Charlie is trying. VERY trying. It takes a LOT to get the DA in Pocatello to lose his bearing in court, but Charlie managed it.)

If the Firm is smart, they'll cut the Zebra guy loose, have him plead guilty, and in few years setup him up under a new name far far away.

Th Office Professional Responsibility of the FBI needs a come to Jesus meeting with the SAC.

Oh, I'm sure that is coming. The Bureau's version of the Eleventh Commandment: "Thou shalt not show thy ass to the world in the Bureau's name, for verily shalt thou be sent unto the farthest reaches of Alaska to investigate illegal trafficking in polar bear scat."

Sounds like there’s going to be a complete replacement of the Alaska Field Office thanks to that incident…

They may set up a field office in Deadhorse or Point Barrow solely to handle the POLBEARSCAT case.

Well, things are happening out here in Cheyenne.

We're lining things up for Exercise OLYMPIC RUMBLE, with the 4th TFW and 384th BW as the OPFOR, against the Midgetman wings out at Mountain Home and Wendover. This is going to be an all-up exercise testing our new operational concepts, with full support from Nellis AFB in turning the missile deployment areas into full RED FLAG-quality range facilities. We're also doing preliminary testing on designs for the new low-signature TELs. 9 May 2023, everybody get ready to RUMBLE!

And the Philadelphia Inquirer demonstrates that over 25 years as the provisional capital's newspaper of record left them with damn good contacts, by announcing the upcoming retirement of National Security Advisor John Armstrong, and that Lieutenant General Sophia M. Lodge, currently CC of 20th Air Force, has been selected as his replacement.

So Sophie's going to be the new NSA? Congratulations from a humble fighter driver who was able to hold off getting stars as long as possible.
