The plot has been thickening.

Just the other day, some dipwad rapper posted a 4K video on Teh Interwebz.

4K is amazing. I mean, you can actually see amazing levels of detail. The pores on the rapper's face...

...the serial number on that Colt .380 that was supposed to have been destroyed by Pocatello PD twelve years ago after a pretty sensational murder trial...

Chuckie has got some 'splainin' to do.

So, what do you think they could nail him with?

They can definitely get him on fraudulent procurement of an office of public trust, which is ten years all on its own in Idaho.

Violation of the Clean Air Act, Felony Breathing.

If they nail him for

Code: Select all

fraudulent procurement of an office of public trust
, could the IRS nail for for tax fraud?

If he paid his taxes, no.

Some would argue that that’s a pity. That said, the law is the law, especially with regards to what the IRS can and can’t do.

They actually have a special kind of tax return for people engaged in illegal activities. Basically, you sanitize the sources of income. Heck, you can even deduct the cost of criminal defense lawyers if you're prosecuted, as that would be considered an ordinary business expense.

Nope. Now, the IRS did disallow the expense associated with having a rival drug dealer knocked off, as there is a substantial public and government interest in not allowing murder, and the courts upheld that.

In fairness, in allowing criminals to pay taxes on illegal gains, the IRS did 2 things, maximize tax revenue, and also make it trivially easy to nail anyone dumb enough to not pay taxes.

Things have gotten back to normal here at Warren and Cheyenne.

If you count "Boss-ma'am ripping the Cheyenne and Boise FBI SAICs new dorsal vents" normal.

Didn't hear the conversation. But they went into Boss-ma'am's office with big PR smiles, and they walked out fifteen minutes later looking like they wanted their mommies.

Has anyone noticed how exceedingly well the F-15EX program is going? Now, the birds are primarily going to the ANG's tactical fighter and fighter-intercept wings, but the hope is that the Active AF will get some. One came up from Eglin for a demo, and both Goalie and yours truly got a ride in the back seat. Kara also got a ride, and the three of us were wishing we were fifteen or twenty years younger, for this is a very capable aircraft, probably the best non-stealth fighter-attack aircraft in development.

Kelly Ray was very jealous when she found out we all got a ride.

The program has been very competently run. They laid out the scope, got buy-in from all parties, and avoided the usual pitfalls of "OOH, SHINY!"

But it's not a guarantee; witness the train wreck that was the EF-15G program. The lack of program integration early on caused some very painful moments, including one airframe having to make an emergency landing at Rogers Dry Lake because the emitters cooked the engine controls...

At the same time, McDonnell Douglas was already working on the Growler for the Navy. I guess they figured that either way, they make a mint.
