Re: Strange New Worlds
As I said before, Enterprise killed my love of Star Trek. The Kelvin verse movies were a mixed bag. The first episode of Discovery didn't help.
They need to remove Kurtzman and let Star Trek rest. When they bring it back, they will need someone with vision.

Star Trek: Year One has been pitched as the sequel to SNW.

Re: Strange New Worlds
I have mixed feelings about this. While I have a tenuous family connection to one of the SNW cast and naturally want to see him in work, I'm also wary about stepping on the toes of TOS.Bernard Woolley wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 7:30 pm Star Trek: Year One has been pitched as the sequel to SNW.
That said, I'd cope with seeing the reality of Kirk and Mitchell's frienship to really hammer home how awful Gary Mitchell's fate was.

Done right--with an eye to following solidly established canon and with good stories--it would be great.Bernard Woolley wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2026 7:30 pm Star Trek: Year One has been pitched as the sequel to SNW.
I have no confidence that Hollywood can consistently tell good stories at this point, and that's a darned shame.

There’s only a small window of Kirk’s command of ENTERPRISE that hasn’t been covered. As much as I love how Paul Wesley has portrayed Kirk, there just isn’t enough time before we get to TOS to make a viable TV show.
So even if Hollywood is what it was in the 1960s or even 1980s, there just isn’t enough storytelling room for a commercially viable TV series.

Yeah that seems to be the case. Meanwhile it is also reported that Star Trek United, starring Scott Bakula as Federation president Archer, has quietly been picked up for production, although no official announcement has been made.jemhouston wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2026 5:04 pmBoth I thinkJohnnie Lyle wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2026 1:38 pmSNW, or Star Trek Academy?jemhouston wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2026 11:15 am I read reports the set for Strange New World have been torn down.

They are placing the props and equipment for Star Trek Academy on auction IIRC next week, but no word on a SNW auction.jemhouston wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2026 5:04 pmBoth I thinkJohnnie Lyle wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2026 1:38 pmSNW, or Star Trek Academy?jemhouston wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2026 11:15 am I read reports the set for Strange New World have been torn down.
