Every time I see one these things I think of how easy it is for the mold and humidity to set in unless its connected to the grid and using lots of electricity to process the air.

There's also the ground-water / water-table issue: In a lot of areas, agricultural pumping has severely lowered the water-table. In event of 'event', and that abstraction is significantly reduced, the water table will recover by seasonal hikes. Also, unevenly...

IIRC, a relative who built on side of Scottish hill was fortunate that initial work was delayed by planning issues as a 'Winterburn' sprang from slope.
