Re: General Discussion Thread
Surely there’s a limit as to just how much crap Uncle Sam is willing to put up with from these two?

They are well-known for walking right up to, but not crossing, that line.
So far.
(As I am a target of litigation by one of their clients both personally and in my former official persona as CC of the 306th Cyber Operations Wing, that's all I can say for the nonce.)
(Note: we need a better name than "Cyber Operations Wing," as it leads to a rather unfortunate acronym, particularly if you are in El Forko Grande.)

Any idea why they can't yank the airworthiness certificate.Poohbah wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 4:28 am1. So my question is, how good are these private Migs maintained, do they get supply from Ukarine, the Russian Republic ore the Far Eastern Republic and how does the United States government look to private individuals owning Migs type plane like the 23.
(OOC: true event)
2. Yes.
3. The FAA, if they could have their way, would ban the -23. As they cannot do so, they use their backup plan, "drink heavily."
I have heard of various companies that refit old Warsaw Pack birds with western engines and avionics.

There's no type certification for the Flogger, you'd have to revoke every individual cert issued, and there's an appeals process.jemhouston wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 2:13 pmAny idea why they can't yank the airworthiness certificate.Poohbah wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 4:28 am1. If they deploy any of the Cyber Operations Wings, we can make snarky jokes about waiting until the COWs come home...jemhouston wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 2:19 pmBetter COW than Bull.Poohbah wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 2:10 pm They are well-known for walking right up to, but not crossing, that line.

Re: General Discussion Thread
Well, the usual idiots were protesting at the main gate at Warren this morning.
First move: epoxy themselves to the pavement.
Second move: wait for my 260Z 2+2 to show up and throw eggs at it to ruin the paint.
That was the plan. Unfortunately, I was already in before they showed up, and the first guy to hit the main gate was running Klipsch Heresy speakers in the bed of his truck
Playing Hick Hop loud enough to be heard clearly in the parking lot at HQ 20AF...

Only in the summer. Having to suit up to use the ACME “extremely carcinogenic”(TM)(patent pending) solvent to dissolve the epoxy is a bit hard, but makes a good MOPP4 drill.
Re: General Discussion Thread
Hopefully the idiots will catch something completely and utterly dreadful (not to mention completely and utterly fatal) from it…

I dunno. You think they would have learned from the CSPs at Mountain Home playing "Move Bitch" by Ludacris on the LRAD...

People complained after the norovirus incident. Something about it being so clean and disinfected that even the prions were unfolded.

The fact that they are lawyers means they know full where where the line is, and how far they can go before they cross it.

That would probably explain how they've managed to stay out of the attention of both State and Federal Grand Juries.

They've been sued in civil court a few times. Don't know much more than that due to NDAs.
