meetup?

Just found out someone on one of my less frequent boards passed away a couple weeks ago suddenly. I'd had the thought but not the time to meet up since he was actually local to me, but it never happened. I've had the thought for a meetup from this forum for a while, never got around to doing it. The...

As I recall there's a separate version that's being used to make a different constellation.

a talk with grok on India and Pakistan

Apparently that's what I get without a lot of work, can't just paste it here so I don't know of everyone can go over and see it.

What does the board think of its analysis?

Re: The Army cancels the M10 Booker, a ‘light tank’ that was too heavy

Make a s-tank but made of titanium. :D Actually this sort of the question I can in here to ask. How much weight could be saved if we dropped the turret and used an autoloader with only a 2-3 man crew? Which now that I think about it is basically an S-Tank. Not enough. The 105mm gun is too big for t...

Re: Sentinel ICBM will need mostly new Silos...

Wires or conduit? I can't imagine a modern system would use cables from the 80s (I would think it'd be based on modern Ethernet or fiber optic stuff), so I'd think it would be less the actual wiring as being able to actually replace it.

Re: Sentinel ICBM will need mostly new Silos...

Amen. Gotta wonder though, I remember reading on here some silos were set up carefully so they would be shielded by geography from attack while allowing launch against the USSR, and some of those missiles couldn't be repurposed for other targets. If they intend to have a more generally useful force,...

Quantized inertia, aside from supposedly eliminating the need for dark matter, also provides a method of action for devices like this.

Got patent pending. Marketing is the hard point, it costs money and I don't have it.

I'm really thinking instead of bootstrapping off a shop I'll have to get the whole shebang since I'll need the e-commerce site and stuff anyway.

Re: LLC approved

Based on experience in my last shop I designed a system of adjustable hydraulic fixtures for CNC machines. Sweet!!! I could see them cutting setup time down massively! That's part of it. Since I plan to sell off the shelf with a short lead time, it's also faster and cheaper to get to the point of s...

Having quit the 40 hour a week job, I've spent the last couple of weeks working (as my ADHD and anxiety will let me) on getting business stuff going.

So now is Spaceballs 2, The Search for Lots of Money, and Spaceballs 3, The Search for Customers For the Brand New Product, filmed simultaneously.

Re: US Army is missing $151+ million meant to feed troops.

Is this a branch specific thing? As I recall, dorm residents (gotta love the AF) got a reduced allowance for food to accommodate using the chow hall. We still got a bit into our checks though. If you were living in family housing for off base you got more, and if you went to the chow hall you'd actu...

Re: SpaceX 2024

SpaceX will figure out the root cause of the issue, make the necessary modifications to Starship and submit the mishap report to the FAA. Starship will be launching again out of Boca Chica with 3-months. I suspect that is an integral part of SpaceX culture. This was not a cheap failure but is only ...

Re: SpaceX 2024

The other part is SpaceX has driven the cost down past the government threshold. Hubble could be launched on a falcon 9 if a quick Google got the numbers right. Even with a custom frame, a billion dollars would probably get someone a "Scrooge McDuck space telescope array" with a big enough...
