Re: History of the Alamo's Japanese monument

Have you ever looked at the YouTube videos posted on this board, realized you are subscribed to almost every channel and been depressed that the algorithm actually gets things right? Yeah, me too.

Re: Shōgun (2024)

I will add my voice to the others that I really like this version of 'Shogun. Has anyone here seen the original TV miniseries from 1980? Is it worth seeing or has it aged poorly? I have not re-watched the 1980 mini-series, but I did watch it in 1980 (when I was all of 9). The clips I have seen on Y...

Re: Shōgun (2024)

I have gotten busy and have only just finished episode three, which was again fantastic. The detail in the weapons and armor is, to my my mostly untrained eye, excellent. The quality of the acting is just top-notch. I have zero complaints and am hoping I will have to watch episode four soon.

Re: Shōgun (2024)

Premiered today on Disney Plus (yeah, yeah, I know). After watching the first episode, I give the show five out of five tatami cut. The crew really saw to it that every single detail of Japan in the year 1600 is accurately depicted, and it shows. The gushing reviews I read in the last few days cert...

Re: Extinction of steam locomotives derails assumptions about biological evolution, claims researcher

Dont say never. In a world of limited hydrocarbons, steam trains will make a come back. I dont see a battery powered locomotive pulling cars over the rockies. Is there such a thing as a nuke locomotive? If only there was a way that electrical wires could follow the train... https://maxfaqs.files.wo...

I don’t disagree, but what does that have to do with this movie?

Re: Dungeons and Dragons - Honor Among Thieves

Two cents from who may watch it cable. Hollywood seems to have forgotten movies are supposed to entertain, not lecture. You can do both but bashing your audience over the head the "Message" doesn't work. No "Message" at all. Even the Drinker was surprised at how much he liked th...

Re: Dungeons and Dragons - Honor Among Thieves

I also echo Jotun’s review. I started playing Dungeons & Dragons way back in 198…2 I think. This movie is just…man, it’s good. If at the they’d faded to black and then come back to all the actors sitting around game table with a bowl of pretzels and some empty beer cans, it would not have been o...

Point of information - I drove a deuce and a half in Kuwait in 2003 for OIF - so I kinda think it wins for longevity.
