Re: The Last War: Chapter 374.
I know Bernard has been working on expanding the number of Territorial and Home Service Force battalions. He's aware of the errors in the posted version, and I'll add that I've seen a version of the British Army ORBAT that corrects many of the errors mentioned and has added battalions. It's a work ...

Re: The Last War: Chapter 374.
Simon, I am working on the updated British Army ORBAT now. Suffice it to say TLW Army concentrated on things the IRL Army had as aspirations/priorities. Other than 5 RTR and some other additions to the RA/RE/RLC, the RAC and Inf sought to fully man the units they had. Additionally the AI & MW so...

Re: British Army Order of Battle
Just a Warning Order… Bernard and I are currently trying to get a grip on updating the ORBAT. A ton of documents have been released since TLW started, so things that were guessed at/like to have turned out somewhat differently from what was planned prior to IRL Wall Fall. So we are trying to reconci...

Re: General Discussion thread.
Simon, I will post the RN and Army stocks too I left out the Sonobuoys for RAF, they had different stocks from the RN in different categories. I will post them also. RN & RAF seem to have followed the NATO Stockpile Planning Guidance (SPG) which was for 30 days of war. As I previously said, the ...

Yes, in Richard Kent’s Challenger 1 book he delves into that. U.S. Army team was caught taking pictures and videos of the range, etc.Bernard Woolley wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 12:48 am The CAT competitions were totally unrealistic and a lot of countries cheated.

Yes Sir, you are certainly correct on that account. Made more so by the advent of Chally2.Bernard Woolley wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 6:30 pm And despite CAT 87 its Tank gunnery was also probably amongst the best in NATO too. Something later proved on the battlefield. Just not a European one.

Re: British Army Order of Battle
Just a brief note on how 1 BR Corps planned to fight in 1989 The FEBA was supposed to be from the IGB to the Leine, with 3 Armd Div in hides between the Weser and Leine. However by 1989, in practice the Rear Boundaries for 1 & 4 Armd Divs extended to the Weser. This was because 3 Armd Div might ...

Re: Canadian Armed Forces
I will post the page regarding U.S. formations… II MEF would stage through the UK coming in via Liverpool (port) and Manchester (airfield). UK was also set to stage 9 IND but by 1989 they were informed that the 9th would go direct to a BALTAP. The PA ARNG’s 28IND was due to stage thru the UK but the...

I was thinking, if this ever came to fruition (CETB), would not the best deployment for Canada be back in NORTHAG, perhaps to cover the Belgian sector?

Forgot to mention that Canada was in discussion with the UK to set up a supply depot in the UK also, again never materialized due to Wall fall.
