Since it's that day again. . .

I figured a little bit of tax humor was in order. I've had this on a bulletin board for some time. Might be worth sharing.

Re: Some advice needed

excellent topic - my "data" has been stolen so many times I've lost count. So far I've never had a problem but it worries me. I have two factor authorization on everything that supports it. There are so many accounts that require email as the login. I think I'll look into the authenticato...

Re: Some advice needed

Craig, I took your advice and downloaded MS Authenticator. I'll see what that reveals when I finish setting it up. I’ve been using Norton and Lifelock. Happy with both. Beyond that my advice is to “Drink heavily” :D The more I think about it, between my bank and credit card company monitoring servic...

Re: Some advice needed

I have two-factor authentication enabled on every account I can think of. That I can think of is the part that can come back to bite me in the butt, though. I'm hoping that I haven't forgotten to change one. I've always used strong passwords on my accounts, but in the last couple of years I've start...

Some advice needed

Let's face it. 2024 was a bitch. Especially in the personal privacy aspect for me. Here's the rundown: March 2024 - I receive notification that my healthcare supplier (or a third-party clearinghouse company) was hacked through some software that was less than totally secure. Data stolen includes nam...

Re: Some trolls here

Just out of curiosity, how long would one have to be inactive to be zapped? I registered back in November, but my work schedule wouldn't permit me to start posting until early this month. I may have come close.

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Season 3

Talking of Enterprises, F was already on her way out. She was due to be decomissioned after Frontier Day due to damage suffered in the recent past. Something happened to her that was not in any way Worf's fault. I think she was a bit like those ships we pulled out of reserve for Fleet Reviews, only...

Re: SS Montevideo Maru wreck found

Now lets hope she remains a wreck and does not end up being scrapped as have several maritime wrecks in the area.
The ship is too deep to scrap. It lies about 4,000 meters down.

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Season 3

Great moments: 1. “Agreed. We will make a threesome.” “Do you even know what you’re saying?” 2. Data's counseling session and Riker's question afterward. 3. Seven's speech to her crew. 4. Seven of Nine being informed of her promotion. Not so great moments: 1. Troi telling everyone on the cube that d...

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Season 3

If anything else, this episode reminds us of the dangers of hubris. Starfleet and the Federation were so pleased with themselves regarding gathering the Fleet for Frontier Day and developing a system that links ships together, that nothing could go wrong, that they never stopped to think about whet...

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Season 3

Incidentally Discovery just got cancelled, the fifth season will be the last. That opens up for a potential Picard follow up show. Not really. Patrick Stewart may be 82, but Picard is most definitely older. He was born in 2305. Season 1 took place in 2399 and Season 2 took place in 2401. Season 3 c...

Re: Marine Corps to eliminate Scout Snipers

It’s budgetary. The Marine Corps budget doesn’t allow for expansion. Any new organizations and units can only be afforded by reorganizing others. It's not just budgetary. Where do you get the people for the new units? Mike's post in another thread said that 77% of 17-24 year olds are unfit for mili...

Re: Star Trek: Picard - Season 3

Poor Picard, he has been getting a lot of disrespect this season. Shaw disses him twice when he and Riker show up for dinner in Shaw's cabin. First, when he starts eating the meal without them, then he puts down the wine that Picard gave to him. But I think Shaw was correct to do that. Picard and Ri...

Re: Russian Navy silhouette identification chart (2023)

At least she has a good smoke stack.
With the number of fires it's had, the whole ship is a smokestack.
