Re: ...It is to weep...

If it helps lessen the blow, $1,000 in 1946 is equivalent to about $16,000 today.

Re: ‘Sherlock’ Creator Wants To Write A British Version Of ‘The West Wing’: “It’s Necessary”

The West Wing was an idealization of the Clinton Administration. A British version would need to go back to Blair or perhaps Wilson.

The para delivery one is kinda annoying. It's not just a prank on the officer, which would be a little funny, but on the troops as well.

Haven't seen Brooklyn Nine-Nine much, but I do recall him from Glory and Homicide. A very fine actor who will be missed.

Mind you, Bondarchuk had a literal Army's worth of trained extras to reenact that campaign. That option wasn't available to Ridley Scott as the folks who provided Waterloo's extras are too busy badly re-enacting the Great Patriotic War to help out.

Was it one of the non-Terminator Arnie movies where flustered 'Arm Candy' unfolds and fires 'bazooka' the wrong way ?? Down-side, takes out a shop-front and parked car. Upside, this sufficiently distracts her intended target, whose driver swerves, crashes... Commando . Rae Dawn Chong fires a four b...

A long time ago my wife lived next door to a family with three children, two boys and a girl. Their names were Peter, Jack and Bunny. Anybody want to guess what the family name was?

There's a more reasonable explanation that that the driver was an idiot. He may not have been trained in hazardous material transportation or been given any information on what was in his tanker. Just told to get in his cab, drive to this spot, pick up a trailer, and take it to that spot. When it s...

If it doesn’t make you more lethal, ditch it, says top Army officer
That sounds good, so long as it doesn't mean he thinks time spent on learning why White people suck and walking a mile or two to the mess hall in 112 degree weather makes one more lethal.

“Do we need to have 60 cooks [in a unit]?” Wormuth told lawmakers. “Or can we use 40 cooks?”
Besed on the articles about food service at the former Fort Hood and at Fort Knox, it sounds as if they not only could use 60, they don't even have close to 40.
