Right it would make surprise attacks and ambushing very difficult

Re: Pondering the decline of Neanderthals

Re: Why did the United States want the Philippines?

The idea of securing the sea lanes to China seems like an argument open to attack. I'm not saying China trade wasn't the reason, but there must have been arguments against it. So I guess what I need to know about is the 1898 Treaty of Paris and the debate leading up to February 6, 1899, when the U....

Re: Dark Earth: Imperial Almanac of Great Britain

Is there something different about medieval Ireland in Dark Earth in terms of threat or ability, resources etc? It seems to have attracted the personal attention of a number of monarchs and the TL hints at major campaigns and battles, compared to OTL. After Henry II went over to make sure his Lords ...

Caught in a blood temperature(literally) heatwave we decided to escape from the camper-trailer and go to the air-conditioned cinema. So we saw this. Which made me realise how little I knew of Boney's story. As such i can't remark on accuracy. Somehow the music and Phoenix's unapologetic American ac...

Why are there tu22m2 still in service? The soviets were producing 30 tu22m3 a year in otl (a limit they informally agreed to in SALT talks) so that would be 450 additional tu22m3 by 2005

The boundaries of human history keep getting pushed back, earlier and earlier, this,Göbekli Tepe might point to something huge, but as yet unkown at came to an end at the last Ice Age( no, not f#@King ancient aliens) Agree! This is very interesting In the last couple of years, I think we have pushe...
